*Dim Flashlight Fix*

When I tested my flashlight tonight it was dim and would shut off when wiggled. The batteries (2 D cells) are fairly new and haven’t been used that much. I used a voltmeter and checked voltage at the bulb contacts. It was 2.8 VDC. Each battery is 1.5 volts. They are in parallel so 1.5 x 2 = 3. The reading of 2.8 was fine.

The contacts were tarnished. I used a small piece of fine sandpaper and sanded the contacts. Then I wiped off the sanding residue. Screwed the bulb assembly back on and it was bright.

Just because a light is dim doesn’t necessarily mean bad batteries. Could just be a bad connection.
