*Old Chemical Lights*
I had a couple of old chemical lights lying around. They were manufactured in February 1998 and here it is September 2007.
I cracked them both and they glowed as if they were new. 24 hours later they had dimmed considerably, but were still glowing.

According to these, it’s safe to say that 9-year-old ones will still work effectively.
